Tax Preparers

John E Kulawiak, EA began working in the tax and accounting field in 1980 working for the late Jack Nerenberg.  In 1982, John and Jack formed Nerenberg & Kulawiak, Inc. in preparation for Jack's retirement. John and his wife, Patti, completed the purchase of the business from Jack Nerenberg in 1989. 

John added investment planning to his services in 1998 through an affiliation with CJM Planning Corp., which was acquired by Cetera Financial Specialists LLC. He currently holds FINRA Series, 6, 7, 63, and 66 registrations and is licensed in New Jersey, Pennsylvania, South Carolina, and Florida for life insurance and variable annuities.

 

Edwin J Kulawiak II, EA has been providing tax and financial advice since 2001. Ed graduated Cum Laude from Chowan College with a B.S. in Business Administration - Accounting Emphasis. In 2004, Ed passed the IRS Enrolled Agent Exam. 

He currently holds the FINRA Series 6, 63, and 65 registrations and is licensed in NJ, PA, FL, NC, and SC for life and health insurance. Ed is the firm's long term care and disability insurance specialist.  In his spare time, Ed enjoys watching sports, attending NJ Devils games, and playing golf. 

 

 

 

 

Carrie Francis, EA graduated Magna Cum Laude from William Patterson University with a B.S. in Accounting. She worked in corporate accounting before leaving to be a stay at home mom to her 2 children. She came to Nerenberg & Kulawiak in November 2011 and started preparing tax returns in November 2017. Carrie passed the Enrolled Agent exam in February 2022 and is the firm's lead researcher.

 

 

 

 

Office Staff

 

Michele Corby joined our team in December 2020 and is our Executive Administrative Assistant. Michele holds certifications in Quickbooks, Accounts Receivable Management, and Estate & Will Planning. She is also a commissioned Notary Public and continues to take certification courses to further her education and to meet the needs of our office and clients. In her free time, you will find her on the sidelines of a field, court, or pool cheering on her daughters. She also loves being a Nana to her grandchildren. 

 

 

 

 

Patricia Kulawiak is the firm's bookkeeper and payroll specialist. Patti enjoys shopping, cooking, and spending time with her three grandchildren.
